Information for Volunteers

Westmoreland Earth Day could not be as successful without the help of our dedicated volunteers.

Earth day needs volunteers in a variety of categories, whatever your talent, we are sure you will fit somewhere.

On behalf of the 2008 Westmoreland Earth Day Committee, a HUGE thank you for you time, expertise, and enthusiasm on April 19^{th. We estimate that about 2,000
individuals and their families were positively impacted by the
activities and resources. Your involvement as a volunteer was crucial,
as over 200 volunteer hours were provided by wonderful folks to make the
event possible at Saint Vincent College}

PLEASE Save the Date for Earth Day Event on April 18, 2009 at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve at Saint Vincent College.

Volunteer Categories

Booth set-up (Unloading cars/ Carrying supplies)
Booth Clean-up (Loading cars/Carrying supplies)
Parking Assistant (Directing cars to park)
Character Costume (Wearing and walking around event)
Walking Billboard (Wearing info board & walking around event)
Door Prize Table (Organize & announce winners)
Volunteer Break Room Attendant (Admittance & replenish snacks)
Registration & Welcome (Meet & greet; distribute tickets, etc.)
Scavenger Hunt Booth (Explain & give scavenger hunt materials to kids)
Evaluation Rover (Ask questions randomly to E-day attendees)
Hands-on Activity Booth (Assist at booths with crafts or activities)
Hospitality Rover (Provide refreshments for booth participants & volunteers)
Game Attendant (Direct & play the various party games)
“Hidden” Talent (Juggler, magician, stilt walker, unicyclist, face
painters, clowns, ventriloquists, caricature drawers, mimes...)
