WINNIE PALMER NATURE RESERVE AT SAINT VINCENT COLLEGE
2008 RECAP:
Westmoreland Earth Day 2008 included over 50 exhibitors, live shows,
children's activities and free resources for more than 2,000 individuals
and their families from the more than 60 municipalities within
Westmoreland County and abroad! Over 200 volunteer hours were provided by
students, professionals, and the community. Activities enjoyed included by
visitors included the Giant Earth Globe, Amphibians Alive, Fishing, the
Bugs, and making necklaces and other crafts! Folks commented the reasons
they attended Earth Day included a nice family day; learn more about the
environment; general interest; like to learn about nature; and we come
every year! Thank you to all that attended, volunteered, and made the
event a fabulous one this year!!
