Cooperative
Allied Health Programs - There are three types of cooperative
programs offered here at Saint Vincent College.
Scenario
One
Students earn a Bachelor's Degree from SVC in a variety of disciplines.
Most common majors are Biology, Biochemistry, and Chemistry. Then the
student proceeds on to obtain a professional doctoral degree (MD, DO,
etc.) from Duquesne University.
Scenario
Two
In cooperation with Duquesne University, students study two years at SVC
and then transfer to Duquesne for 2-4 years. They will obtain a degree
from Duquesne. For Pharmacy (PM), Physical Assistant (PA), or Occupational
Therapy (OT) professions.
Scenario
Three
Students study three years at SVC and 1- 1/2 years at another institution.
They will obtain an undergraduate degree from SVC. From here they continue
to doctoral degree at another school. For Physical Therapy profession.
Accelerated
Degree Programs - Saint Vincent College's Pre-Health curriculum
includes a couple of fast track programs.
3/4 Osteopathic
Program
Pre-Health students can earn a B.S. from Saint Vincent and a D.O. from
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, and complete
the dual-degree program in seven years, rather than eight.
3/4 Podiatric
Program
Pre-health students can earn a B.S. from Saint Vincent and a D.P.M. from
the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, and complete
the dual-degree program in seven years, rather than eight.
