AutoCAD Drawing

This course is designed to prepare the student to think and communicate by using the medium of computer graphics. The specific intention is to stress the understandingof useful visualization tools (commands) as information and communication tools to efficiently draw an interpretation of a functional design. Therefore, concepts of computer-aided sketching and drawing techniques form an integral part of the basic thrust of the courses it seeks to prepare the student to master the drawing commands and concepts presented.

Each student will be able to use, with facility, basic AutoCAD commands and techniques, properties to convey ideas required for study in manytechnical graphic fields and for the successful completion of techniques and ideas that are required for study in many engineering fields. Each student will be able to successfully use computer-aided drawing to communicate lettering, line weights, alphabet of lines, measuring (fractions, decimals and metric), projection systems, isometric, oblique, multi-view pictorials, auxiliary views, dimensioning, sectioning, tangents, tolerances, threads, springs, engineering standards, and an introduction to working drawings.
