Language
Resource CenterThe Language Resource Center was developed by the Department of Modern & Classical Languages to give students the opportunity to practice their language skills beyond the classroom setting. The main unit in the Language Resource Center is the Sony LLCC-9000 Console. There are 21 student stations, two VCRS, two 27 " tv monitors, a multidisc player, headsets with microphones and a visualizer wired to the console. The system allows for both individual and group work. There is also a slide projector and a VCR that has the capability to play and convert foreign video tapes. The Resource Center also has two computer stations and some individual viewing stations. In addition to the technological equipment, there are reference books, maps, a collection of foreign films, and audio magazines. The Language
Resource Center is also used for tutoring. The Department provides tutoring
services in French, German, Italian, and Spanish, Sunday through Thursday.
