ENVIRONMENTAL HOME SCHOOL SERIES

Fall 2009

Learning the Landscape
A Study of Nature and

Conservationist Aldo Leopold

Using excerpts for Aldo Leopold's Book, "A Sand County Almanac", we will investigate the landscape around us including Tree Ecology, Stream Ecology, Habitat Ecology and Wildlife Ecology

ABOUT THE SERIES

The classes are hands-on environmental science related lessons for home school students.  Each Series offered by the Reserve will focus on a particular topic with each class building on each other.

Classes are the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1:30 – 3:30 PM in the Environmental Learning Barn at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve (some lessons may take place outside, so please come prepared for the conditions.)  Take home activities/assignments may be available if the family would like to extend the experience and topic.
